It was shortly after 8 p.m. when the first boats participating in the international offshore sailing race Aegean Regatta began to arrive at Plomari, Lesvos, completing the longest and most demanding leg of the race, covering a distance of 76 nautical miles.

The northern winds that continue to blow across the Aegean helped the crews showcase their skills and seamanship, allowing them, after departing in the morning from Agios Efstratios, to reach relatively quickly the second stop of the race. The event is organized by the General Secretariat of the Aegean & Island Policy of the Ministry of Shipping and Island Policy, in collaboration with the Offshore Committee of the Hellenic Sailing Federation.

After the completion of the first two races, the lead in the three categories is held by the boats Baximus, Meliploe, and Dragon.
