The Yacht Club Costa Smeralda has announced that Comandante Edoardo Recchi, Secretary General and Sports Director of the Association, will step down from his roles at the close of the sporting season in September for personal reasons.

After more than two decades of service, Recchi leaves with the full support of the YCCS, having played a pivotal role in the Club's success at an international level.

"After 25 years, it is time for me to step down from my roles. It is a decision taken with serenity, for personal reasons, in the knowledge that I have dedicated a large part of my professional life to this prestigious Association, which I consider a true family" said Edoardo Recchi. "During my time here, I have had the privilege of working alongside outstanding people and organisations, owners, sailors, colleagues and friends, whose support has made it possible to achieve significant goals and consolidate the position of the YCCS as a global benchmark in the world of yachting. I am deeply grateful to the Aga Khan family, the Board of Directors and the Board of Auditors, to the Commodore, management and all the staff for the faith placed in me throughout these years, and for the shared passion in managing ambitious projects and prestigious events. I will take away with me a wealth of unforgettable experiences and the pride of having contributed to the growth and prestige of a Club that is unique in the world, with the certainty that the YCCS will continue to navigate new challenges and reach new milestones with great success."

Giorgio Benussi will assume the positions of Secretary General and Sports Director, bringing with him extensive experience in a range of management roles within the yachting world.

The President of the Board of Directors, Princess Zahra Aga Khan, together with the Directors, the Board of Auditors and the Commodore of the YCCS extend their heartfelt thanks to Comandante Recchi for all that he has achieved for the Club during his career, and wish Giorgio Benussi every success in the new roles he will assume from 1st October.

Princess Zahra Aga Khan and Andrea Recordati, YCCS Commodore, expressed their gratitude: "On behalf of the YCCS we sincerely thank Edoardo Recchi for his exceptional dedication to the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda for more than two decades, during which he contributed to enhancing the prestige of our Club. We welcome Giorgio Benussi as the new Secretary General and Sports Director, his experience and vision will be fundamental in successfully guiding the YCCS in its future endeavours."
