Australia's largest sailing boat show, the Pittwater Sail Expo 2025, will take place from Friday 24 to Sunday 26 October at the Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club (RPAYC), Newport. This free three-day event will bring together yacht enthusiasts, boat owners, marine professionals, and the local community for an unmissable celebration of sailing.

The showcase will feature over 35 yachts from 23 leading international and Australian brands, assembled in one spectacular waterfront location. Visitors can expect to see a diverse line up of boats to suit every style of sailor, including catamarans from Excess, Fountaine Pajot, and Seawind, monohulls from Jeanneau, Beneteau, and Catalina, performance yachts such as the X-Yachts range and J/Boats, and luxury bluewater cruisers from Amel and Grand Soleil. This unmatched variety positions Pittwater Sail Expo as the only event in the country where so many sailing yachts can be viewed, compared, and experienced side by side.

Complementing the yachts on display will be a vibrant onshore exhibition, creating a true one-stop destination for all things sailing. Exhibitors will include sailmakers, rigging specialists, marine electronics and engine experts, chandlery and safety gear suppliers, as well as engine and insurance providers. For yacht owners, prospective buyers, and newcomers to sailing, this unique mix offers direct access to the latest technology, products, and expertise, making the expo both a marketplace and a learning hub.

Beyond the yachts and exhibits, visitors can enjoy a relaxed waterfront atmosphere with food and beverage options, family friendly hospitality, and opportunities to connect directly with the people who design, build, and sail these world class yachts. Whether browsing casually or researching a major purchase, the event is designed to inspire, inform, and engage.

"This is a true celebration of sailing," said Commodore of the RPAYC, Robert McClelland. "The Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club is proud to host Australia's largest sailing expo. Sailing needs strong industry support to stay visible, attract parents and children, and keep our fleets vibrant. This event is more than a showcase of boats - it's about inspiring participation and strengthening the sport we all love."

Graham Raspass, a Pittwater Sail Expo spokesperson, said the scale of the 2025 show will be bigger than ever. "There is no other sailing exhibition in Australia where you can see more than 35 yachts from 23 brands side by side, ready to step aboard. From spacious family cruisers and high-performance racers to cutting edge catamarans and luxury yachts, the range is truly world class. Add to this the wide selection of marine businesses onshore and you have everything a sailor could want in one event. Whether you are in the market for your next yacht, curious about the latest marine technology, or just want a great day out by the water, the Pittwater Sail Expo is the place to be. Best of all, entry is completely free."

The Pittwater Sail Expo 2025 will run Friday 24 to Sunday 26 October, with free entry and parking available. Friday 12noon-4pm, Saturday and Sunday 10am-4pm

The appeal of offshore
Is there still appeal? Have we made it too onerous? Why would someone take it up now? I had been pondering. Yes. Marquee events have no issue attracting entrants.
