Top sailing athletes from across the country are in Kingston to compete this weekend, August 21-24, at Sail Canada 2025 Youth Championships in ILCA 4, ILCA 6 and 29er, as well as 49er and 49erFX Senior Championships.

Sail Canada 2025 Youth and 49er/49erFX Senior Championships will be hosted by CORK/Sail Kingston, along with CORK International and Olympic Classes Regatta and the 29er Canadian Championships.

Qualifier for the 2025 Youth Sailing World Championships

Sail Canada 2025 2025 Youth Championships is also the qualifier for Canadian sailors in the 29er class for the 2025 Youth Sailing World Championships to be held December 12-20 in Vilamoura, Portugal. The best ranked male and female/mixed teams following this event, above the age of 12 years and under 19 years on December 31, 2025, will qualify to be nominated to represent Canada at the 2025 Youth Sailing World Championships.

Selection criteria are available in Sail Canada's Athlete Selection System and Requirements for the 2025 Youth Sailing World Championships.

Races for Sail Canada 2025 Youth and 49er/49erFX Senior Championships will be held according to the following schedule:

  • Thursday, August 21: races are scheduled to start at 1pm
  • Friday, August 22: races are scheduled to start at 11am
  • Saturday, August 23: races are scheduled to start at 11am
  • Sunday, August 24: races are scheduled to start at 10 am

Sail Canada 2025 Youth and 49er/49erFX Senior Championships event is part of a series of eight Sail Canada National and Regional Championships to be held this summer. These competitions provide an opportunity for sailors to train and compete with high-level sailors in their region, in addition to serving as talent identification opportunities for regional and provincial sailing teams, as development and mentoring opportunities for coaches, as well as training and development opportunities for officials and volunteers.
