Orbit: Predictable in the unpredictable

North's iconic 5-strut kite, meticulously designed for those passionate about sending it higher, longer, and with more control than ever before. The latest Orbit is the product of a complete redesign driven by rider progression and performance demands. The new high aspect ratio (now 5.2, up from 4.3) stretches the kite's footprint in the sky for even smoother lift and hangtime. Expect quicker turning and a "lighter" sensation thanks to the updated pro-technology N-Max2 airframe and slimmer leading edge. On the water, the difference is unmistakable: turns are punchier, loops land on target, and there's newfound confidence when the wind cranks up.

What's new in the 2026 Orbit?

  • Total control in Big Air: The new high aspect ratio (now 5.2, up from 4.3) expands the Orbit's footprint—delivering more lift, explosive power for bigger jumps, and extended hangtime. Upwind drive and easy steering remain at its core, inviting you to push your limits with confidence.

  • Faster steering and responsiveness: With increased sweep and slimmer wingtips, the kite turns faster and more precisely, letting you dial in your loops and landings, session after session.

  • Slimmer, lighter, stronger: The advanced N-Max2 airframe allows for a lighter, more efficient leading edge, supported by a precision five-point bridle. Expect powerful performance and stability - even when the wind really turns on.

  • Engineered for your progression: a more forward and curved profile give the kite a smoother, more energetic feel, making the kite faster through the air and more dependable during kiteloops and landings.

  • Refined aerodynamics: The new single profile transition panel (PTP2) is meticulously shaped to reduce seam tension and guarantee a seamless transition from the segmented leading edge to the curved canopy. Every detail ensures greater aerodynamic efficiency and a cleaner canopy feel.

What riders say:
"There's something really special about the all new Orbit. What stands out most for me is the second lift, that moment the kite catches me after the loop, feels smoother than ever before. And the purple kite, easily my favourite colour from the range". - Nathalie Lambrecht, Pro Kiter.

"Every year, I find myself questioning whether any improvements can be made on the setup I already find perfect! This year, one thing that stands out for me is the response and recovery, typically suited to my short line requirements, where there is zero margin for error." - Jett Bradshaw, Pro Kiter

The Big Air Twintips all share advanced builds with 3DY Beam UD Carbon Reinforcement, double concave to deep-V center spines with extended edge channels for smooth landings, and flip-tech mounting with centreline inserts.

Atmos Pro: Precision you can feel

The Atmos Pro is the board that doesn't need bravado. Its Triaxial Carbon build delivers an extremely fast and reactive response when loaded, with greater torsional and longitudinal board stiffness. The double concave to deep-V centre spine with edge channels enables smoother landings and precise control. It's not just about boosting higher - it's about knowing your board will handle whatever you throw at it.

"This is my go-to board and is the greatest feeling board for Big Air but also freeride. From 20 till 50knots" - Cohan Van Dijk - Pro Kiter

Atmos: your everyday boost machine

If there's an "all-rounder" in the lineup, it's the Atmos. This board has earned a following because it helps you attack overpowered conditions without drama and makes sketchy landings less punishing. The Atmos' flex and energy return mean it still feels playful, not stiff, even after a long day on the water. Strategically placed layers of unidirectional carbon tape in the Triaxial Hybrid Carbon construction help deliver a responsive and dynamic load and release, with precise edge control for powerful upwind tracking.

"When the conditions get rough, this board really comes into its own. A board is a board in perfect butter flat conditions, cranking 40knots in a storm chase, it's a slightly different story!" - Jett Bradshaw, Pro Kiter

Astra: a real option for lighter riders

For lighter or smaller-framed riders, the Astra delivers Big Air performance without compromise. Playful yet powerful, we've built the 2026 Astra with a responsive flex for riders for increased control in a range of conditions, greater comfort, and softer landings, without sacrificing performance. The Astra's smaller proportions, narrower stance, and lightweight biaxial hybrid carbon construction with 3DY reinforcement provide riders of all levels with just the right amount of flex. Consistent, dependable rail grip. Clean and powerful pop. Sending it was never this easy.

"This board has been so much fun to ride lately. It's light and easy to handle. Just feels playful under my feet while also giving me the confidence to push in strong conditions. Definitely a go-to when I want something that reacts quickly but still gives control." - Nathalie Lambrecht

Brand Director Mike Raper says: "This year's Big Air Collection reflects what riders actually notice—smoother takeoffs, less fatigue in rough conditions, gear that helps progression feel natural. The stand out for me is the improved performance of the Orbit"

Elevate your ride. Own the sky. The iconic Orbit, Atmos Pro, Atmos and Astra are out now, re-imagined for those who aren't done progressing.
