Catalina Yachts is pleased to announce a landmark design collaboration with Tripp Design Naval Architecture for the all-new Catalina 48. As Catalina's first production 48-footer, this project marks more than a model launch—it marks the beginning of a new chapter in the company's story, where American design, engineering, and craftsmanship meet contemporary elegance on the water.

For more than 50 years, Catalina has quietly defined what sailing means to generations of cruisers: safety, strength, simplicity, and lasting value. Now, with the Catalina 48, the company sets sail toward a refined vision—one that speaks to the evolving expectations of today's sailors while remaining grounded in Catalina's unwavering commitment to its owners.

"This is not just a new boat. It's the beginning of something bigger," said Patrick Turner, President of Catalina Yachts. "The Catalina 48 brings together the best of who we've been and where we're going. It's American luxury, redefined for the sea."

The Catalina 48 will feature graceful lines, generous living spaces, and the thoughtful functionality that has long defined Catalina yachts. The collaboration with Tripp Design—recognized globally for timeless, seaworthy designs—introduces a fresh design language to the Catalina fleet, one rooted in comfort, confidence, and elegance under way.

Every detail of the Catalina 48 is being considered with care: from the fluid ergonomics above deck to the warm, expansive accommodations below. The yacht is being designed for those who want to cruise farther, stay longer, and feel truly at home on the water.

"We're thrilled to bring a new voice to a brand with such a storied legacy," said Bill Tripp, principal of Tripp Design. "There's an authenticity in Catalina's approach that aligns perfectly with our philosophy—beautiful, honest boats built for people who love to sail."

As the first of several new-generation models, the Catalina 48 reflects a vision that is both ambitious and grounded: American-designed, American-built, and proudly Catalina.
