The fifth round in the Dragonflight, Met, and Southern Travellers Trophy series brought together a competitive fleet of 31 entries representing nine different clubs. Over the course of the event, sailors completed seven races each, taking full advantage of the day's conditions.

The weather was mostly light and variable, with winds coming from the west to southwest. Early on, sailors were tested by fickle breezes and subtle shifts, but the wind gradually built throughout the day, providing more consistent and tactical racing as the event progressed.

Emerging as the clear overall winner was Nigel Barrow from Datchet, who secured victory by a comfortable margin thanks to consistent and tactical sailing throughout the series. He was followed by clubmate David Lindsay, who took a strong second place. Rob Dwyer from Eastleigh rounded out the podium in third, showing great form throughout the day.

A friendly but fierce rivalry between the Gosport and Emsworth clubs added an extra layer of excitement to the event. This time, Gosport came out on top with a convincing margin. All eyes will be on next year's rematch as Emsworth look to respond.

Thanks go to the race officers, volunteers, and competitors for making Round 5 another successful and enjoyable day on the water.
