XOD Captain's Cup at Cowes Week - Day 7

by Rory Paton 9 Aug 2025 08:18 BST 2-8 August 2025

The fleet started off another RYS start line providing the spectators with great viewing. Another competitive start saw a general recall, on the restart there had been a little shift to the left and Swallow and Mollymawk gained a round of applause for port tacking the fleet.

The shifts came thick and fast, also going well early on was the youth bursary boat XL.

By the windward mark Astralita managed to arm wrestle her way to the lead ahead of Excitation and Gone Away. There were some close finishes as we finished against the tide on the Royal Yacht Squadron line. It was perhaps fitting that the 1,2,3 today matched the overall results.

A fantastic performance by Astralita has seen her win not only the Captain's Cup but also White Group and Cowes Week overall. Congratulations to John Tremlett, Fraser Graham and Tim Copsey.

Overall results so far can be found here.
