The TP52 Australia Class, and Super 40's will combine in a specialised format for the first time over two weekends of fast paced racing, 11-12 & 25-26 October from the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia.

"The Australia Cup is an exciting extension for grand prix racing in Australia," said Craig Neil, Class President of TP52 Australia.

"We have had great success with the TP52 Australia fleet, in the quality of the regattas, on and off the water, and we are keen to invite the Super40 fleet to join us for the next stage".

"Given the new Admiral's Cup style format, we are expecting a fair amount of international interest - especially in years to come," he continued.

It is projected that the spring event, on Sydney Harbour, will become a key warm-up event for the Australian fleets, with the main summer season ahead. And for the internationals who have already expressed interest, it fits perfectly with their overseas racing seasons as well.

"The Australia Cup will be held in October, which gives the Australian fleet a regatta in the second half of the calendar year and provides an ideal time for European, UK and US teams to compete," finished Neil.

Thanks to naming rights sponsor LGT Crestone for their support.
