Day two of the Porto World Championships began with hope—and strategy. With light winds in the forecast, the race committee scheduled an early start in anticipation of a short sea breeze window. Unfortunately, the breeze never quite showed up, and racing was postponed.
But that didn't stop the action — it just shifted focus.
Kidzink Eco Hub Workshop: Learning, Leading, and Laughing
With the water calm, sailors dove into the Kidzink Floating Eco-Hub Workshop, picking up where they left off the previous evening.
Kidzink, a proud partner of both the European and World Championships, hosted an engaging, hands-on activity that challenged young sailors to think sustainably. Split into mixed-nationality teams of four, participants were asked to design floating eco-hubs that tackled environmental and logistical challenges on the water.
Together, they brainstormed, built, presented, and problem-solved — and most importantly, made connections across borders.

Two teams stood out with their creativity and teamwork — and were awarded game-changing prizes:

The workshop wasn’t just about sustainability — it was about building bridges. Sailors walked away with new friends, shared experiences, and a stronger sense of what it means to be part of the global 29er community.
As the wind stayed soft into the afternoon, the boat park filled with laughter, stories, and impromptu training chats. Sailors made the most of the downtime, enjoying the camaraderie that defines this class.
