Seven nationalities and more than thirty teams will compete for the continental crown in the Uber ORC C class at the 43rd Copa del Rey MAPFRE, organized by the Real Club Náutico de Palma. Among the entries is Fala Pouco, owned by Andrés Manresa, last year's class winner.

Uber ORC C is shaping up to be one of the most exciting classes of this year's event a división which is wide open. With 34 boats from seven different countries, the class will bring a closely matched fleet to the Bay of Palma, including two teams that have previously been on the podium in this prestigious regatta: the Spanish boats Fala Pouco and Wanderlust.

Fala Pouco, owned by Andrés Manresa and skippered by José Ballester, was the winner of the ORC 3 class at last year's Copa del Rey MAPFRE. The Real Club Náutico de Torrevieja team posted strong individual race results in 2024 that earned them a well-deserved victory. They arrive in Palma in top form, having recently claimed another win in their class at Valencia'sTrofeo SM La Reina.

Also returning is Wanderlust, skippered by Josep Pons Faner (CN Ciutadella/RCN Palma), who finished third in ORC 3 at last year's edition. The team returns to Palma determined to improve on that result and solidify its standing among the fleet's elite.

Other notable contenders include Nautic Café del Mar, representing Club Náutico de Sant Antoni, who claimed a podium finish in the Mediterranean Sailing Circuit. The class will also feature two of the nine Italy Yachts competing in this year's event: Giulia, skippered by Rudolf Vrestal, and Sarchiapone Fuoriserie, led by Gianluigi Dubbini.

Another standout name in the class is the German team Earlybird, led by Hendrik Brandis, a regular on the international ClubSwan 50 circuit and winner of his class in 2024. This time, Brandis and his crew will be competing for the Uber ORC C title aboard a Cape 31.

Among the local teams, Meerblick, skippered by Otto Pohlmann, will be a standout entry, fresh off a victory at the Sandberg PalmaVela last May.

The class will also benefit from strong institutional representation with two entries from the Spanish Navy: Regulus I, skippered by Francisco Javier Pavón Jarava (Naval Regatta Commission of Cartagena), and Regulus VII, helmed by Carlos Supervielle Berges (Naval Regatta Commission of Cádiz). Both teams arrive to the Copa del Rey MAPFRE with the goal of establishing themselves in one of the regatta's most crowded and competitive classes.

The Uber ORC C class is scheduled to sail up to eight races between Monday, July 29, and Friday, August 2. As in other ORC divisions, the race program includes two coastal races, although this may vary depending on conditions. In addition to the Copa del Rey MAPFRE trophy, the teams will also be competing for the continental title, as this year's event doubles as the ORC European Championship for this class.

With teams from Germany, Italy, France, Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, and Spain, Uber ORC C will be one of the most international classes of the 43rd Copa del Rey MAPFRE.
