A Day at the Races - What's it like to attend a SailGP event?

by Mark Jardine 21 Jul 2025 11:26 BST 20 July 2025

We've all seen SailGP on YouTube, or on the TV, but what's it like to attend an event in person?

On Sunday I went to the Emirates Great Britain Sail Grand Prix in Portsmouth, sitting in the grandstand and filming with the usual camera I use for interviews to try and give you a taste of the action and atmosphere from the shoreside.

I also caught up with Vendée Globe star Sam Goodchild at the beginning of the day to get his thoughts on the experience.
