Outer Reef 780 Adventure completes 2,300+ NM Maiden Voyage with flawless performance

by Outer Reef Yachts 16 Jul 09:44 BST

Outer Reef Yachts proudly announces the successful maiden voyage of the Outer Reef 780 Adventure, following a remarkable 2,300+ nautical mile journey from our Dutch shipyard to her new base in La Napoule, France.

After a brief commissioning period in the Netherlands, the 780 Adventure departed on an extensive shakedown cruise with the shipyard team onboard. The vessel performed flawlessly during day and night cruising without a single technical issue. Its superior engineering and craftsmanship are synonymous with Dutch yacht building.

Joining the passage in Gibraltar, Outer Reef's President and CEO, Jeff Druek, and Trevor De Faoite, Managing Director of Outer Reef Europe, oversaw extensive onboard testing of all systems. Key performance highlights include:

  • Exceptional Seakeeping: Impressively low noise levels create a peaceful onboard experience.
  • Unmatched Efficiency: Fuel burn is just 18.6 L/hour (5 USG/hour) at eco-cruise, yielding a range of over 5,000 NM, exceeding CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) predictions.
  • Smooth Performance: The fast displacement hull ensures a stable, slam-free ride in both head seas and open water.
  • Surprising Spaciousness: Thanks to an amazing 140 Gross tons, her interior volume and layout rival larger yachts, with generous staterooms and thoughtfully designed living spaces.
The 780 Adventure will be available for private viewings at the Outer Reef Yachts office in La Napoule through the Cannes Yachting Festival this September. Clients and enthusiasts are warmly invited to come aboard and experience this next-generation explorer yacht firsthand.
