OK Nationals at Dabchicks Sailing Club - Day 2

by Jennie Clark 13 Jul 18:52 BST 12-15 July 2025

After a fantastic first night social run by the host club, Dabchicks SC, the fleet took to the water for day two, with today's sponsorship by HD Sails.

After the fantastic conditions of day one, it was a cooler morning for the sailors rigging in the dinghy park, and lighter winds were the order of the day too. PRO Paul Jackson advised the fleet that the forecast from about 1300 was for 8 to 12 knots from a broadly similar direction to day one with 2 races planned, and the first warning signal at 12.55.

In order to give the fleet time to launch and sail to the race area Delta was due to be displayed at 1145hrs however the wind wasn't playing ball and AP was flown until 12.30 at which point the fleet were released.

Oliver Davenport put his OCS from day one behind him to take line honours in both races, followed by Ben Flowers who took second place in both races. Ben remains at the top of the leaderboard with Richard Burton in 2nd. Andy Rushworth is in 3rd overall with Terry Curtis in 4th. Oliver moves up to 5th.

Once again Synergy Marine kindly sponsored the after race beer, served with a very welcome snack as the fleet came ashore.

Monday is looking breezy and the fleet waits to see if it's breeze on and a good sail or breeze on and no sailing!
