The new course set by the Barcelona International Boat Show has the support of the industry and leading national and international brands have already confirmed their participation in the event held next October.

The leading show in Spain is finalizing the details of an edition that will add a new dock for large boats and focus on a greater and more exclusive offer to attract new audiences and buyers.

Organised by Fira de Barcelona with the collaboration of the National Association of Nautical Companies (ANEN), the new edition of the Barcelona International Boat Show, which will take place from 8 to 12 October in the Port Vell of the Catalan capital, is progressing at a good pace with the presence of leading companies, highlighting the commitment made to the event by two of the largest groups in the world nautical industry, Brunswick and Beneteau, which will showcase a wide array of brands and models.

In this sense, it is worth highlighting the loyalty of exhibitors from past editions such as Bluegame, De Antonio Yachts, Excess, Fyord, Garmin, Girbau, Jeanneau, Pardo, Leopard, Fountaine Pajot, Lagoon, Movilmotors, Nuva, Recambios Marinos, Rodman, Sasga, Sessa, Solé, Touron, X-Yacht, Yamaha, Zephir or Zodiac and new firms joining the event like Galeon, Horizon, Kawasaki, Pearl, Prestige or Princess, among others.

Also noteworthy is the participation of new Spanish shipyards such as Cleemenss, Kumbra, Level or Maxim and Italian shipyards such as Elegance, Explorer, Rio Yachts, which make their debut at the Fira de Barcelona show.

Thus, the event will present a wide sample of all nautical sectors, bringing together more than 180 exhibitors and some 600 boats. For the first time, the Moll de Barcelona dock will open for boats with over 20 metres in length. This new offer will be added to the exhibition at the Port Vell, the docks of La Fusta, España and part of Marina Port Vell. To make the visit to the entire event easier, a shuttle boat will connect the Barcelona and Spain docks.

The president of the event, Luis Conde, commented that "we are satisfied with the support we are receiving from the sector for this new event model. This edition is just the beginning of a process of change for the future Barcelona Boat Show with larger boats, the participation of the top companies in the market and a greater number of international shipyards that will attract a more qualified public with greater decision-making and purchasing power."

Purchasing audience

In this way, the Barcelona Boat Show will exhibit a wide array of models ranging from the most common boats of up to 6 meters to the largest boats in an edition that is aimed at an audience with a clear buying interest, who will be able to learn about the latest developments in sailboats, catamarans and yachts that are more efficient and sustainable.

The new orientation of the leading nautical event in Spain is the result of the 2025-2028 Strategic Plan, which seeks to reposition it with a greater and higher quality offer to entice large national and international buyers, as well as improving the visiting experience.

Director Josep Antoni Llopart pointed out that "the Boat Show sets a new course this year to raise its level, become the best commercial platform for sailing in southern Europe to cater to the needs of the industry by bringing together the best possible offer to attract both national and international buyers."

According to a report by ANEN based on data from the Directorate General of the Merchant Navy, the recreational boat market in Spain closed the first half of the year with a total of 2,792 registrations, an 8% decrease compared to the same period in 2024.

The General Director of this entity, Jordi Carrasco, said that "the Barcelona Boat Show is one of the drivers of the sector in our country. For nautical companies it represents an opportunity to activate sales, generate business and establish strategic commercial relationships. From ANEN, we support this event in the calendar of boat shows as a benchmark showcase for recreational boating in Spain and the Mediterranean".

The Boat Show's commitment to sustainability and innovation will be reflected in the programme of activities that, coordinated by the Port of Barcelona, is currently being drawn up and will address topics such as the blue economy and digitalisation, among others.

Gourmet experience

In addition, the event will debut a new 2,500 m2 village to promote social and business contacts, located on the Moll de la Fusta dock which will offer a high-quality gastronomic experience by the prestigious chef Rafa Zafra.

In collaboration with Le Chef Catering, in charge of the service, the Sevillian chef, who manages restaurants in Barcelona, Madrid, Ibiza and Monte Carlo, has designed a tasting menu featuring six dishes with ingredients from the sea at 150 euros per person and an Open Bar, in which tapas and dishes will be offered from 5.80 euros.
