A small but excited group of sailors arrived at Llys-y-Fran reservoir in Pembrokeshire over the Solstice weekend to compete in the NRT Consulting National Redwing Inland Championship.
With glorious weather on the Saturday and a beautiful backdrop Race Officer Ted Lewis put on five races which were hotly contested by the whole fleet. The first two races were won by the club owned Redwing R244, with R249 taking the next three races to lead by one point overnight. The longest day was celebrated with most of the fleet camping on site in the magical Preseli hills.
Day two dawned - very early with grey skies and a stiff breeze that was forecast to increase at race time. With a decision made to abandon racing the results from day one stood. Massive thanks to everyone who travelled up, also to the event sponsor NRT consulting, our hosts Welsh Water and to the organisers Tenby Sailing Club.
Overall Results:
1st R249 Dan Jackson & Richard Sadler
2nd R244 Robin Wood & Steve Leach
3rd R190 Alex McDonald & Dan Shaw
4th R241 Julian Cumpsty & Howard Yates
5th R228 Bill & Nan Dowell
