The first all-ladies sea angling team, Rods and Ribbons, will be at Wescom Group's Stand P39 at Seawork at 10.00am on Tuesday 10 June raising funds for Cancer Research UK.
Visitors and exhibitors at the show can support Cancer Research UK with the chance to win a sMRT Alert AIS (RRP £270). Simply 'purchase' one of the 30 lucky-draw tickets for a donation of just £10 to have the chance to win this award-winning life-saving device.
For an instant take-home gift use the QR code on the Wescom Group's stand and donate £25 or more to enjoy your own, limited-edition Rods & Ribbons YETI Rambler Mug (RRP £38.00). All proceeds go directly to Cancer Research UK.
Rods and Ribbons was set up in 2024 to raise funds for Cancer Research UK, and has already achieved over £22,000 in donations, thanks to support from companies such as Wescom Group.
This year, Rods and Ribbons will be taking part in the Sea Angling Classic, which takes place in the Solent from 19-22 June. Team members Gemma Robins, Hannah Burywood, Izzy George and Emma York, will be fishing from their 6.26m Ocqueteau 615, powered by Suzuki. The team have to catch five species, with the three longest fish per angler counting towards the overall tally. This year the team hope to build on their 2024 success when Gemma won Top Lady angler.
