Excess Asia Pacific Monthly Update

by Excess Asia Pacific 29 May 10:46 BST
EXCESS 14 debuts at SCIBS 2025 © Excess Catamarans

Australia's first Excess 14 had a grand premiere at this year's Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show. Our dealers in Australia 38 South Yacht Sales and Flagstaff Marine teamed up and represented Excess at the show. This show marked the official debut of 38 South Yacht Sales as Excess's exclusive dealer in Queensland and Victoria, Australia.

The boating experts from both 38 South Yacht Sales and Flagstaff Marine were on the spot for introductions and guidance.

In 2025, Excess reached another important milestone: the shipyard has built 100 Excess 14 hulls since her launch in 2022. Throughout this June, we will celebrate this achievement with our partners and dear customers in different forms, on a global scale. Stay tuned for more updates.

The Excess 14 is a cruising yacht that combines exhilarating performance with a playful design. This remarkable vessel is available in both the owner's version and the charter version. She offers an unparalleled sailing experience, with helm stations located at the stern, providing direct contact with the rudders and a clear view of the sails. Moreover, she prioritizes comfort and modularity, ensuring a delightful living space for all onboard.

2025 Excess Campus: four days to experience the 100% Excess adventure

From May 14th to the 17th, 2025, Canet-en-Roussillon was abuzz with activity for the third Excess Campus, an annual event designed to support Excess owners in their new cruising life.

Designed as an interlude for both technical skill building and community support, Excess Campus brought together some thirty participants from locations around the world for a taste of the Excess experience, including training, cruising, and shared moments.

For four days, participants alternated between technical training (mechanical, electronic, electrical, as well as weather...) led by our partners, Yanmar, RM Nautisme, and Garmin, and practical workshops focusing on docking maneuvers and catamaran maintenance.

This 2025 edition also placed an emphasis on safety at sea, with support from the SNSM of Canet-en-Roussillon, who came to train participants in the best practices in rescue and accident prevention.

Lastly, Excess owners were able to perfect their skills, heading to sea to cruise as a fleet along the Catalan coast.

How well-equipped could an Excess 11 be?

As a 37-feet long cruising catamaran, the Excess 11 is the only large-scale production boat on the market for this size of catamaran. Yet, she is no petite belle. Look at this 2024 Excess 11 "Be Happy" and find out how well-equipped she could be.

She is equipped with flexible solar panels providing 2400 Watts of power, 1320 AH of lithium batteries, 3 chart plotters at three different positions, 2 water makers, 2 inverters and of course the Pulse Line rigging (taller mast and bigger sails) from Excess. She offers full autonomy at sea.

This model has both Iridium and Starlink On-board satellite communication, whenever and wherever you are, you can always be connected with the world. Turn one of the living spaces on the boat into a working place and enjoy a real life-work-balance style at sea. Watch the video and check out how capable this Excess 11 could be.
