New remote control for RemigoOne Electric Outboard

Remigo, the European innovator behind the award-winning RemigoOne electric outboard, has launched a highly anticipated upgrade: a sleek, waterproof remote control that delivers effortless handling and next-level comfort for electric boaters.
The remote pairs seamlessly with RemigoOne via a secure binding process, allowing users to switch freely between the tiller and remote operation. A versatile magnetic mount system enables intuitive placement in any orientation, while the MOB (man overboard) safety feature adds peace of mind.
Developed in response to direct customer feedback, the new remote allows boaters to adjust the motor's speed from anywhere on board or from the included tiller handle mount. The ergonomically designed remote clicks into the tiller mount in three positions.
"When we designed the RemigoOne, we placed the throttle controls on top of the motor with its integrated battery," said Marko Vrtovec, CEO of Remigo. "RemigoOne is built for heavy-duty use at sea, despite its elegant appearance, and eliminating vulnerable connection points from external throttles or batteries increases durability."
"Since some boaters prefer outboards with throttle controls on the tiller handle, we decided to give them something better: a tiller-mountable remote control that maintains the ultra-rugged reliability the RemigoOne is known for," Vrtovec continued.
Remove the remote from its tiller mount and click it into its handheld mount, complete with a floating wrist strap. In handheld mode, owners can adjust the throttle from anywhere within the remote's 15-meter range, and the MOB feature instantly stops the motor if the operator falls into the water.
Now, sailors can lock the RemigoOne and use the remote for throttle while steering with the rudder. When it's time to use the motor on the dinghy, the remote clicks into the tiller. Whether heading to dinner onshore or navigating from the bow, boaters are no longer tethered to the transom.
"We always listen closely to our owners," said Tjaš Cvek, one of Remigo's lead engineers. "The demand for a tiller-mountable remote control was clear, and we wanted to deliver it without compromise."
While deceptively simple on the outside, the remote control was more than 18 months in the making. The team overcame significant engineering challenges, from fitting a high-capacity battery into the compact design to achieving a fully waterproof housing. The remote uses WLAN communication, which provides a longer range and a more secure and stable connection than Bluetooth and does not require an internet connection. Charging the remote is quick and easy via USB-C, and a full charge delivers 12 hours of use and more than a month in standby mode.
"It's exciting seeing people's reactions at boat shows," added Cvek. "You can tell when someone is about to ask about tiller controls. Being able to show them it's already here—and that you can use it from anywhere on your boat—is incredibly rewarding."
