The coastal destination of Dún Laoghaire has been chosen to host the 2025 World Sailing Annual Conference and World Sailing Awards from 3-8 November 2025, bringing together over 400 international delegates and some of sailing's biggest names for a celebration of the sport and an opportunity to shape the future of sailing.

This will be the second time the town has hosted a World Sailing Annual Conference, after first hosting the event in 2012.

Representatives from across the sailing world, including volunteers, sailors, event organisers, committee members, Member National Authorities (MNAs), Class Associations, boat manufacturers, and the World Sailing Board and Council will convene at the Royal Marine Hotel to discuss World Sailing's strategy for the coming year and beyond, making and ratifying key decisions that will impact the sport at every level, from elite professionals to recreational sailors.

World Sailing's Council will meet on 8 November to provide opportunities for Members to interact with the Board before the final meeting to approve, reject or defer the recommendations and proposals from the Committees and will ratify proposals at the Annual General Meeting. Elections will also be held during the General Assembly to fill two vacancies on the World Sailing Board.

David Graham, CEO of World Sailing, said, "We are looking forward to welcoming delegates, Council Members and the World Sailing Board to Dún Laoghaire once more for the World Sailing Annual Conference. This is always a special occasion where the community is able to come together, discuss proposals, champion our successes and share suggestions for where we can improve, speak openly about challenges facing the sport worldwide and create new opportunities for the growth of a sport we all love.

"The World Sailing Awards will once again share and celebrate the achievements of so many athletes from across sailing, shine the spotlight on those working to innovate and support the growth of the sport."

"We are delighted to sponsor the 2025 World Sailing Annual Conference and World Sailing Awards in Dún Laoghaire," said Cllr Jim O'Leary, Cathaoirleach, Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council. This event is a crucial opportunity for the global sailing community to come together, strategize, and make decisions that will shape the future of the sport for years to come. This event is not only an opportunity to celebrate the sport of sailing, but also to showcase Dún Laoghaire Harbour and our vibrant sailing community,"

Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council, Irish Sailing and the waterfront yacht clubs are looking forward to welcoming World Sailing and to providing a memorable conference with a big Cead Mile Failte (a hundred thousand welcomes) to all our friends from the international sailing community.

Further information on the conference, including the submissions, agendas and supporting papers, is available here.

The Annual Conference open sessions will be streamed live on the World Sailing YouTube channel.
