With just days to go until the much-anticipated Colander Cup, FM Sailing and Northampton Sailing Club are putting the final touches on what promises to be a fantastic day of racing and community.
To qualify for the event, boats must have cost, or be valued at, a maximum of £300, and the winner will receive a £300 cash prize, as well as the prestigious Colander Cup!
Isaac Marsh of FM Sailing says: "This fun event is all about getting people in boats out on the water, and showing that sailing doesn't have to cost the earth. It's one of a kind, and we're really hoping that it will be a fun way to celebrate everything good about the sailing community.
"We're delighted to report a favourable forecast for Saturday: light winds, warm temperatures and sunny skies — ideal conditions for an enjoyable and tactical day on the water."

The Sailing Instructions (SIs) are now finalised and available to read on the FM Sailing website. Competitors are encouraged to check them out ahead of time so they are fully prepped for the start line. They include everything you need to know to make the most of the event.
BBC Radio Northampton will also be getting in on the action, with FM Sailing's very own Marsh giving an interview on Tuesday, offering a preview of the event and what makes the Colander Cup such a unique fixture on the sailing calendar.
Marsh adds: "FM Sailing has been working closely with Northampton Sailing Club to bring sailors a relaxed but competitive racing experience, and we're incredibly excited to welcome competitors, friends and families to the club. And the galley will be open, serving breakfast baps and lunches."
"Entries are still open — and if you haven't booked yet, don't worry! You can enter on the day directly at the club. Whether you're racing to win or just keen to be part of the fun, there's still time to join us.
"See you on the water!"
