This year's RS200 Rooster Championship Tour Spring Championships took place at Ullswater Yacht Club as part of the larger Daffodil Regatta event. 12 RS200s took to the water having their own start and a fantastic windward / leeward course, sharing only with the Snipes who sailed on an outer triangle loop.

Saturday started in sunshine with a SW wind almost down the lake. The wind wasn't expected to be particularly strong but when the gusts came through there was some planing conditions before the wind eased in races 3 and 4. After 4 competitive races, sailed back-to-back, the overnight leaders Brendan Lynch & Ellen Clark had an impressive score line finishing within the top 3 positions in all four races, followed Daniel Whiteley & Olivia Stanley, Chris & Evie Pickles, Mark & Jess Oakley.

Saturday sailing was followed by a visit to the fish & chip van, a few beers & enjoying stunning scenery.

The sun was hidden behind the clouds for most of Sunday. The wind was generally stronger, but the shifty conditions made for plenty of position changes every lap with continued tight racing throughout the fleet. Brendan & Ellen continued with their day 1 form to take the event win with a race to spare. Close racing meant positions 2nd to 4th went down to the last race.

A special mention must be given junior sailors Evie Pickles and Rory Davenport who completed all races crewing for their dads and still had smiles on their faces at the end!

Huge thanks to Ullswater Yacht Club for hosting a great event & Race Officer Graham Priestly and team for managing to complete 7 races in a timely manner.
