Tenzor International Cup - J/70 Open Winter Series 2024-2025 - Stage 5 Day 2

by Burak Zengin 13 Apr 06:28 BST 10-13 April 2025

Light wind on the second race day of 5th Leg of Tenzor International Cup - J/70 Open winter Series 2024-2025 allowed only one race.

"Yesterday we started the fifth and final leg races at full speed and managed to do three fast races. The weather reports for the second day's races predicted rain and insufficient wind. When we arrived at the race area on the second day, a weak wind was already blowing. Despite this, we completed one race and shortened the distance on the second upwind leg using the Charlie pennant. We are expecting a strong north wind again for tomorrow and we have moved the first warning signal time to 10:30 in the morning", - reported Can Giray, PRO of regatta.

Dolce Vita helmed by Inna Balashova topped the table winning the race number 4.

"There was one race today in very light wind and we won it, so happy with the results! Yesterday was nice to sail in strong wind, but for us it was not easy and results were not good. A lot of teams are racing with five crew members on boat. This adds confidence, speed, and weight, and in strong wind they can show their best on the water. Let's see how the final day turns out, we will do our best!", said Alice Kirilyuk, tactician of Dolce Vita.

Another woman on helm - Elvira Pinchuk from PTICHKI Sailing Team was second with great performance in her debut in Tenzor International Cup Series.

"Yesterday was very emotional day and very challenging races, and today is exactly the opposite day. There was one race, which was held very calm and balanced, and we came second and were very happy about it. We learn a lot here racing in competitive fleet and have a lot of fun", - commented Elvira Pinchuk, skipper of PTICHKI Sailing team.

Russian Bogatyrs finished 3rd and reinforced its leading position ahead of Nautique Yachting and Teenage jumped on 3rd position in overall after four races.

Tenzor Team led by Andrey Pushkin lost one position and currently holds 4th place. Just 1 point behind them there is Hubex team helmed by Kirill Frolov.

The great results of Orient Express and Bars Sailing team finishing 4th and 5th today moved them up in standings.

Racing continues Sunday. The starting procedure is scheduled for 1030hrs, with winds forecasted to be much more fresher than Saturday.
