The European Youth Snipe Championship, which starts today and concludes next Monday 14th April in the San Juan reservoir with 36 boats registered, closes its first day in white due to the total absence of wind and a light rain.

Everything was ready at the Real Club Náutico de Madrid for the start of the races scheduled for this first edition, with two on the programme. The fleet made their way to the race area at the appointed time in the hope that a light breeze would blow in, allowing at least one race to be completed.

The race committee tried after a small hint of wind. The wind was not strong enough so the fleet stayed on the water waiting for the wind to come up, which it did not. At around 17.45 the committee hoisted a postponement on A, so there were no more races.

The timetable for the second day remains unchanged, with the starting time for the first race of the day set for 13.00 hours, so the fleet will set course for the race area at around 12.00 hours. Forecasts point to a slight improvement in wind intensity.
