Sail Canada's National Team update - 54th Princess Sofia Trophy Regatta day 5

Antonia and Georgia Lewin-LaFrance have qualified for the 49erFX Medal Race of the 54th Princess Sofia Trophy Regatta to be held tomorrow, Saturday. They are currently in 6th position, eight points from the podium. The Medal Race is contested by the ten best boats following the preliminary races, and points are doubled.

Here are the highlights of Sail Canada's National Team's day on DAY 5 of the 54th Princess Sofia Trophy Regatta held March 31-April 5 in Palma de Mallorca, Spain, the first major sailing event featuring multi-Olympic classes in this new Los Angeles 2028 Olympic cycle.*

Antonia & Georgia Lewin-LaFrance
They finished 4th and 5th in the two races held on Day 5 to climb three spots, from 9th to 6th, and qualify for the Medal Race.

Madeline Gillis and Galen Richardson
They recorded a 9th place in the first of the two races held on Day 5 in Nacra 17.

Thomas & William Staples
They recorded an 8th place in the only race held on Day 5 in the 49er bronze fleet.*
