The National 12 class continues to innovate and grasp the challenges of the day. This is the mentality the class was founded on and this year, the class' 89th year.

With the ever increasing demands of day to day life including work playing a large part in sailor's decision making process for Nationals attendance, alongside a demand from those regular attendees for more races, we have the solution.

For 2025, the Burton Cup will be sailed at night. The Principle Race Officer will confirm the start time on the day but the guidance will suggest the event will need to either start or finish in darkness. We expect a 12:00 start (for obvious reasons).

This new idea will allow two more series races to be built into the racing program for 2025's Burton Week.

We are currently consulting with the RYA on the most appropriate navigation lights for the N12s to use (which will be provided by a generous sponsor this year).
