OneSails has confirmed its sponsorship of the Royal Dartmouth Sailing Regatta (23rd - 30th August, 2025). This marks the first year that the leading global sailmaker, founder of the only fully recyclable sail membrane in the market worldwide*, has supported the event as the Official Sailmaking Sponsor.

The Royal Dartmouth Sailing Regatta attracts around 350 yachts and dinghies from across the south coast with some French teams known to cross the channel to take part. Established in 1822, the event is now the second-largest sailing regatta in the United Kingdom. Last year, the regatta made headlines by introducing robotic racing marks, enhancing mark-laying precision and reducing the demand on volunteers.

Wilf Chaplin, Lead Sail Designer at the OneSails Hamble sail loft, shared his enthusiasm for the partnership, "We're really excited to be involved in this amazing event. With team members having sailed at the event for many years, we're now really looking forward to being part of the regatta in an official capacity and being able to support competitors with any sailmaking requirements."

"A huge credit must also go to the regatta committee for the dedication they have shown in growing this event into what it is today," adds Nathan Steffanoni, Lead Sailmaker.

As part of OneSails' sponsorship, the team will have a repair tent in Darthaven marina where competitors can drop off damaged sails for professional repairwork. In addition, OneSails will be providing prizes and running webinars in the lead-up to the event, offering valuable insights for participants.

Andy Johnson, Sponsorship Director of the Royal Dartmouth Sailing Regatta, emphasised the significance of the new partnership with "We are thrilled to have OneSails on board this year. They will be a tremendous asset to this ever-growing, world-class regatta. Having them on-site means competitors no longer need to worry about racing with damaged sails."

*Recyclability - the base polymer is 100% recyclable in a standard waste separation process. 4T FORTE ™ remains the only fully recyclable sail membrane on the global market.
