For the first time, the Supernova fleet will be visiting the UK's foremost sailing venue, the Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy (WPNSA) for the National Championships from 27th to 29th June.

Over the past few years, the Supernova Nationals has grown into one of the premier events in the sailing calendar. The enthusiasm throughout the fleet is clearly contagious as we now get over 90 boats to our Nationals, including some top sailors. And yet, the fleet remains as friendly as ever and there's always an expert on hand to answer a question or offer tips. I think this is what makes the Supernova so special: it's a big fleet with super-competitive racing, but we never forget we're here to have fun!

The Nationals programme will include nine races, drop-in tuning and technique surgeries with experts, and a dinner on the Saturday night. Not to mention, you get free snacks and even a Supernova branded rash vest!

The Supernova fleet believes in giving prizes for every level, not just for the experts. Therefore, we'll have prizes for Platinum, Gold, Silver, Bronze and Beginner fleets, plus Lady and Youth, as well as the odd prize for anyone who, ahem, distinguishes themselves during the racing.

The class is once again grateful for the support of Hartley Boats in providing an Early Bird offer. If you enter before midnight on 20th April you'll receive a £40 discount, reducing the price to just £100. This is amazing value for nine races over three days.

For more details and to enter, please go to the Supernova class website and click on the 'Nationals' tab.

As the Supernova class continues to grow, we now have an open meeting circuit in Scotland as well as North and South in England, plus an Inlands that last year sold out at 70 entries (we're hoping to up the limit this year). The boat is one-design and epoxy - so light, but strong - and our new, ultra-modern rig has proved a huge success over the last few months. If you're interested in joining a fleet of friendly, competitive sailors who love a good chat in the bar afterwards, our contact details are on the class website.
