Narragansett Sailing and Boating School (NSBS), a premier sailing and marine training center in Rhode Island, is excited to announce new ownership.

Philippe Perut has officially taken the helm, continuing the school's mission to provide top-tier sailing education and hands-on marine training.

Operating from two locations—Barrington and Warwick, RI—NSBS offers American Sailing Association (ASA)-certified sailing and navigation courses alongside practical marine training in diesel engines, boat systems, and marine electrical. Since its founding in 2009, the school has trained hundreds of sailors and powerboaters from New England, across the U.S., and even Canada.

"I want to extend my deepest gratitude to Mary Goff, the school's previous owner, for her dedication and passion over the years. Her leadership has fostered an incredible community, and I'm thrilled that she will continue to support NSBS," said Philippe Perut. "The great news? We will continue offering the same high-quality courses while expanding our fleet and introducing new experiences like 'Discover Sailing' and 'Sunset Cruises'. We are the only school providing these unique sailing adventures near the beautiful Conimicut and Warwick Neck lighthouses. Our team and instructors remain committed to delivering valuable training in a fun and engaging way."

Philippe is no stranger to the sailing world. Born in France, he started sailing at age 12, became a sailing instructor at 18-year-old and has since crossed oceans and dedicated his life to the water. He is also the founder of Coboaters.com, an online sailing club with 3,500 members across North America that connects boat owners with crew. The partnership between Coboaters and NSBS will create new opportunities for students to meet fellow sailors and apply their newly acquired skills on the water.
