A 2025 52 SUPER SERIES season which is full of promise is just around the corner with just over two months before the first starting guns will sound on the French Riviera.

The 52 SUPER SERIES Saint Tropez Sailing Week is set to start on 29th April running through to May 4th with 11 boats set to race including the debut of Andrea Lacorte's new Italian team Alkedo powered by Vitamina. The return to Saint Tropez for the second time after the season opened there in 2023 is a popular choice, a venue which will be favoured by Ergin Imré's Provezzateam which won there last time. The Turkish flagged team will be hoping to start their 2025 title challenge off on a strong footing with their brand new boat which they launched in August 2024.

The defending 2024 52 SUPER SERIES champions American Magic Quantum Racing this season are set to welcome back the return of circuit and world championship winning tactician Terry Hutchinson as well as talismanic owner-driver Doug DeVos.

The racing waters of Baiona in Galicia are bordered by verdant, picture-postcard rugged scenery, the perfect backdrop when the circuit is hosted by the Monte Real Club de Yates Baiona for the 52 SUPER SERIES BAIONA Royal Cup (June 2nd to 7th). A fleet of 12 boats is expected to compete for the Royal Cup trophy which is presently held by Harm Müller Spreer's Platoon Aviation. In 2022 when the circuit started on this beautiful corner of northwest Spain, Doug De Vos steered Quantum Racing to victory.

Cascais for the worlds

Excitement is already bubbling up through the fleet at the prospect returning to Cascais, Portugal where the class has historically enjoyed some of the most exciting physically and mentally demanding racing on the Atlantic, usually in big waves and strong winds. The Rolex TP52 World Championship run July 1st to 6th and at the moment seem set to muster 11 top teams all with a solid chance of lifting the world title which is held by Tony Langley's Gladiator crew.

Any 52 SUPER SERIES season would not feel complete without a regatta hosted on the Bay of Palma and the fourth regatta of the five which constitute the 2025 season is Puerto Portals 52 SUPER SERIES Sailing Week. Puerto Portals, Mallorca's jewel, always enjoys the most unique fun ambience ashore coupled to very close racing in the usually reliable sea breezes. A fleet of 12 boats is expected to compete.

Sardinia showdown

And the final showdown in beautiful Porto Cervo, Sardinia will likely muster 13 TP52s for the season's finale, the 52 SUPER SERIES Porto Cervo Sailing Week. The last two season titles have been decided by one point or less and the same tiny margin might be the deciding factor in Sardinia between September 22nd and 27th.

Teams have spent the winter months fine tuning and optimising their boats seeking the tiny gains which may yet prove crucial during this intense, highly competitive season ahead. At least five teams are set to spend several days training in Valencia during the period 4th to 11th April.
