Tenzor International Cup - J/70 Open Winter Series 2024-2025 - Stage 3 Overall

by Burak Zengin 16 Feb 20:28 GMT 13-16 February 2025

On the last race day of Tenzor International Cup 3rd Leg regatta, the weather forecast was not favourable for racing with wind speed going down very fast.

"We took the first starting time at 11:00. When the weather was favourable we started the first race of the day without wasting much time. Although we scheduled the second race immediately after an uneventful first race, the wind kept changing direction at an angle of about 60 degrees. The wind speed went up and down between 3 and 5 knots. We waited for a while, but when the conditions did not improve," commented Can Giray, the PRO of regatta.

Completing one race in final race day, the total became five races with one discard.

Tenzor Team skippered by Andrey Pushkin did a great performance on the second race day and kept a big gap, confidently won this stage and securing the top position in overall of the Series.

"This stage turned out to be unpredictable, as the weather conditions were difficult. First day passed withour racing, on the second one we had 4 races in a row and on the last race day the wind changed direction a lot, so only one race was done. We have got a very good results. We didn't even expect such stable results in each race, as the fleet had grown on this stage with very strong rivals arrived, so we are doubly happy to win this stage", summarized Daniil Odintsov, tactician of Tenzor Team.

Bogatyrs team led by Igor Rytov won the second place, while Atoll Sailing Team skippered by Anatoly Arnautov demonstrated prowess and completed the podium climbing on the third spot.

Hubex team of Kirill Frolov finished 4th getting equal points with Atoll Sailing team and Dolce Vita led by Inna Balashova closed top-5 on this stage.

Turkish Ameera Jet skippered by Emir Icgoren was happy to finish with 6th result in their first event of Tenzor International Cup Series.

"We had super tough conditions in Bodrum these days. All teams are very competitive and it was really hard to find our spots, but the level is really increasing. On last day of regatta we were a little bit unlucky with the wind, so we had just one race, but that was even quite tough. We are really looking forward to sail in next event of the Series in March", - said Emir Icgoren, helmsman of Ameera Jet.

In Corinthian division the top spots went to Orient Express of Arif Gurdenli on helm (1st place), Eker Sailing team led by Ugur Esen (2nd place) and ASPAT team skippered by Mehmet Okay (3rd place).

Tenzor Sailing Club Türkiye organized a beautiful closing and award ceremony that was the perfect conclusion for competition. The next meeting of sailing teams is scheduled on 13-16 of March, 2025 on Leg 4 of Tenzor International Cup Winter Series.
