Another intense day of racing at the 44Cup Nanny Cay saw the Lanzarote Calero Sailing Team continue its steep learning curve in one of the most demanding circuits in professional sailing. While conditions appeared picture-perfect with blue skies and sunshine, the reality on the water was far from easy - strong winds, tricky sea state and moments of intense tactical battles.

The team's strongest moment came in the first race, where they rounded the windward mark in third place, an exciting milestone for a team that is still establishing itself among seasoned professionals. This result highlighted the progress made in terms of crew coordination, race execution and boat handling, despite the limitations of racing with a chartered boat.

Elsewhere in the fleet, Team Nika stole the show, claiming two bullets in the first two races of the day, thanks to exceptional starts and impressive upwind pace. However, their luck ran out in the final race when a tactical miscalculation and a broach cost them valuable positions. Meanwhile, Team Ceeref Vaider closed the day on a high note, winning the third race and setting the stage for a tight battle at the top of the leaderboard between Aleph Racing and Charisma, who are now tied going into the final day.

For Lanzarote Calero Sailing Team, today's conditions were another test of resilience. Competing against some of the best sailors in the world is both an opportunity and a challenge, especially with a boat that does not yet match the team's specific needs. However, looking ahead to Porto Cervo, where the team will race with its own boat—tailored to its sailing style—this experience will prove invaluable.

Unfortunately, the day ended with an equipment issue in the final race when the gennaker was not properly secured, ultimately forcing the team to retire. A tough break, but one that reinforces the learning process. These moments shape a team's character, and despite the setback, the crew remains focused and motivated, determined to translate today's lessons into better performances in the coming events.

Beyond results, Lanzarote Calero Sailing Team stands for something bigger - a talent development platform within the 44Cup, bringing young, driven sailors together with world-class professionals. It is a team that embodies growth, learning, and long-term ambition, providing a launchpad for the next generation of elite sailors.

With three races scheduled for tomorrow and conditions expected to remain challenging, the team is eager to take on another day of high-intensity racing. The journey continues and Lanzarote Calero Sailing Team is here to prove that hard work, commitment and perseverance always pay off.
