Blairgowrie Yacht Squadron (BYS), a popular yacht club in Victoria, Australia was announced as the venue to host the 2027 RS Aero World Championships.

BYS is situated one hour's drive south of Melbourne on the Mornington Peninsula, an iconic holiday destination for local, interstate and overseas tourists.

BYS was established 60 years ago and is a modern world class sailing club having been completely rebuilt in 2015. It boasts successfully blended keelboat, sports boat and off the beach sailing pathways and is one of the largest sail training programs for juniors, youth and adult sailors in the country.

The sailing conditions during summer is one of the club's major attributes. Due to its unique topography, the fresh sea breeze is offshore, which results in flat seas-perfect conditions for skiff-type boats like the Aero to shine. Shallow turquoise water and frequent playful dolphins only add to the venue's appeal.

BYS is also hosting the next RS Aero Australian Championships in January 2026 and it's expected that a number of international competitors may attend in preparation for the World's the following year.
