Superyacht UK Technical Seminar returns: A must-attend event for industry professionals

The 14th annual Superyacht UK Technical Seminar, a cornerstone event in the superyacht industry calendar, will take place on Tuesday, 25 March 2025, at its new location, the Union Jack Club in London.

Recognised for delivering unparalleled insights into the superyacht sector, this year's seminar will delve into the issues shaping the future of the superyacht industry. Attendees can look forward to a dynamic programme featuring a stellar line-up of speakers covering topics from groundbreaking advancements in sustainability innovations to critical regulatory updates.

Ben Geary, Chief Operating Officer at Döhle Yachts, Chairperson of ISO Ships and Marine Technology Large Yachts, and Chairman of Superyacht UK, will open the day, which will include a mix of presentations and networking opportunities.

  • Red Ensign Group (REG) Code Update: Gain exclusive insights into the latest developments in the Red Ensign Group Yacht Code. Led by experts from the Cayman Island Shipping Register, this session will cover the July 2024 revision, the REG YC GI 2024/1 Amendment 01, and explore potential future changes and updates from the International Maritime Organization (IMO).

  • Superyacht Statistics: The State of the Industry by Numbers: Gabrielle Lazaridis, Business Editor at Boat International, will present the latest superyacht statistics. Discover key trends and data shaping the industry and gain valuable insights to stay ahead in this dynamic sector.

  • Superyacht Cyber Security in the Age of AI: Jeff Ames, CTO at Computer Network Defence Ltd, will deliver a compelling presentation on how AI is reshaping cybersecurity in the superyacht sector. Learn about emerging threats and the innovative ways AI is being harnessed to combat these challenges.

  • Decarbonisation: Targeting 'Net Zero': Rachel Goult, Managing Director of Yacht Carbon Offset, will delve into the pathway to 'Net Zero.' This session will clarify the differences between 'Carbon Neutral' and 'Net Zero,' explain emissions measurement techniques, and provide actionable insights into regulatory requirements and decarbonisation strategies.

  • Chase Zero: Hydrogen-Powered Innovation: Explore the cutting-edge advancements behind 'Chase Zero,' the 13m hydrogen-powered America's Cup chase boat. Alasdair Reay, CEO of HPi Verification Services, will share the challenges and breakthroughs in assessing foiling hydrogen-powered craft, offering a fascinating look into the future of sustainable performance.

The day's presentations will conclude with an inspiring keynote address, speaker to be revealed soon, rounding off this unmissable event of knowledge-sharing and industry collaboration. Before culminating with an exclusive drinks' reception, kindly sponsored by Laurent Giles.
