The Progressive Cleveland Boat Show, organized by the Ohio Marine Trades Association, is thrilled to announce a landmark event celebrating the 150th anniversary of the iconic Lyman Boat Works. Established in 1875, Lyman Boat Works became a household name and celebrated for its superior craftsmanship and innovative designs. With dealers in every continental state, Lyman Boats became a fixture on waterways across America, especially the Great Lakes, fostering a deep nostalgic connection that endures today.
This extraordinary exhibit will showcase a vast collection of historic Lyman Boats and artifacts preserved by renowned Lyman Boat restorer, historian and author, Tom Koroknay, who acquired the entirety of Lyman's wooden boat production assets in the 1980s. Stored meticulously for decades in Lexington, Ohio, these treasures—including vintage boats, original blueprints and rare artifacts will be unveiled to honor how profoundly Lyman Boat Works impacted American maritime history.
