Sailing at Draycote this festive season 2024-25

Club members and visitors have a great opportunity to sail at Draycote Water Sailing Club over the festive season. To make it even better for visitors, the Club is offering anyone competing in the open events over this period free sailing in the Sunday club racing and free boat parking over the period.

The events are:

The Boxing Day and New Year's Day Pursuit Races are part of the Club's Pursuit Race series and are always open to visiting sailors at a fee of £10 per boat per event. They make an excellent way to recover from the festivities of the day before and are always great sailing and social events. Just turn up on the day and enter at the Waterside Reception / Shop. Sunday Club Racing is split into five starts in the morning and 4 in the afternoon, with fleet racing for Fireballs, Flying Fifteens, ILCAs, Aeros and Solos as well as a fast and slow menagerie fleet. Just turn up on the day and register at the Waterside Reception/Shop. See Winter schedule [PDF]

The Youth Open Meeting sponsored by Fernhurst Books is for those aged 23 or under competing in ILCA (4, 6 & 7), Topper (5.3 & 4.2), RS Tera (Sport & Pro) and Optimist classes. Entries close at 2359 on Thursday 26th December. See draycotewater.co.uk/events/ilca-youth-open-23-438

And finally, the Fernhurst Books Draycote Dash is part of the Selden SailJuice Winter Series. It was postponed from November. Entries close at 2359 on Tuesday 31st December and any changes to class/rig from the original entry must be made by then, no further changes will be permitted. Fernhurst Books will have its complete range of 150 sailing and watersports books available at both the Youth Open and Draycote Dash.
