The 2024 iQFOiL Asian Championships and International Games have officially concluded after a week of complicated racing in Shenzhen.
Despite challenging light wind conditions throughout the event, the championship showcased exceptional performances and crowned its new Asian champions across all categories.

Top 3 Senior Women
1. Jie DU (CHN 111)

Jie DU reflected on her victory:
"The wind was very light, and it was quite exhausting, but in the end, I managed to win the championship, so I'm happy. I feel like I performed pretty well in both the start and the race itself. I still have one more competition coming up before the end of the year, and I hope I can perform as well as I did in this one, make fewer mistakes, and keep working hard."

Kun BI shared his thoughts:
"I think my performance in this competition was relatively stable. Winning the championship, I feel, was well-deserved. This competition was a significant challenge, not just for the Race Committee but also for the athletes, as the wind conditions were insufficient on most days. However, both the judges and we as athletes overcame the difficulties, so in the end, the overall results were very good. We are also preparing ourselves for upcoming events, including our national championships, the National Games, and even the Los Angeles Olympics. From now on, I feel that we have officially entered preparation mode. I hope to keep improving step by step and strive to represent China."

"I'm happy to have won the U19 Women Asian Championship, but mostly to have won 11 of the 14 races we've sailed this week."

King HUNG expressed his excitement:
"It's pure joy and excitement to win the Asian champion title. It's a huge win for me, which I'll be remembering for a while. It's also my last event in the youth category, so it's great to leave with no regrets."

Ching Suet YUEN shared her emotions:
"This is the last day of the Asian championship. Unfortunately, we didn't get any races today, but I'm happy to bring my title as the Asian champion, and I'm feeling really excited."

Chun Kiu Curtis HO reflected on his success:
"I have just won the Asian championship. The week was pretty rough, with a lot of tight action and light winds, but I still managed to hold on and claim the top spot. Now, I'm aiming for the World Championship next time and trying to achieve a top-20 result."
Medal series recap
The Senior Men completed both Quarterfinal and Semifinal races, while the Senior Women competed only in the Quarterfinal. Despite the limited opportunities to race in the final stages, the performances highlighted the athletes' adaptability and determination to secure their titles in light and shifty wind conditions.

This year's iQFOiL Asian Championships and International Games were a true test of skill, patience, and endurance. The light winds challenged both sailors and the Race Committee, but the event successfully crowned its champions and delivered unforgettable moments.
