Nacra 17 European Championship at Circolo Velico Sferracavallo - Day 1

The first day of the Nacra 17 European Championship has officially begun at the Circolo Velico Sferracavallo! In light winds of 9 knots, gradually decreasing to 7-8 knots, the fleet of 18 boats and 36 sailors completed two races before concluding the day.

Day 1 Highlights

After two tactical races in these lighter conditions, here are the provisional standings:

1st Willemijn Offerman & Scipio Houtman (Netherlands)
2nd Ruben & Rita Booth (Australia) (non-European contenders)
3rd Lucas Claeyssens and Eline Verstraelen (Belgium)
4th Margaux Billy & Noah Chauvin (France)

With participants from 13 countries, the championships are showcasing high-level competition and skill, with each team adapting to the delicate conditions on Palermo's beautiful waters.

Looking Ahead to Day 2

Racing continues tomorrow, with the first race of Day 2 set to start at 11:00 am. Sailors are gearing up for another challenging day, with the leaderboard likely to see more action as they aim for the European title.
