by Istion Yachting 5 Nov 2024 05:01 GMT 26 October - 2 November 2024

The 14th Catamarans Cup International Sailing Race has come to a triumphant close, marking a record-breaking year for Greece's premier sailing event.

Hosted by Istion Yachting and proudly supported by grand sponsors Lagoon and Excess, this year's race welcomed over 280 participants from 18 countries, setting new attendance milestones.

The regatta kicked off from Athens on October 26, delivering an exceptional week of sailing competition, team-building activities, lively gatherings, and an official awards ceremony.

Highlighting Greece's scenic coastal towns

The Catamarans Cup proudly brought sailors to Greece's picturesque coastal towns with the invaluable support of the Greek National Tourism Organization and the municipalities of Poros, Ermionida, N. Kynouria, and Nafplion. Each municipality welcomed the international fleet with open arms, showcasing its unique charm and warm hospitality:

  • Poros impressed sailors with its stunning marina, historic architecture, and friendly island vibe, offering the first glimpse of Greece's coastal beauty.
  • Ermionida featured breathtaking coastal landscapes and a warm community reception, allowing crews to experience the authentic allure of this region.
  • Paralio Astros in N. Kynouria presented a peaceful and scenic stop, where sailors enjoyed the relaxed pace and traditional Greek culture.
  • Nafplio provided the perfect closing destination with its historic ambiance and charming town center, setting the scene for the race's awards ceremony and final festivities.
