The Mubadala Brazil SailGP Team has revealed a first look at its 'vibrant' F50 design inspired by the colors and 'spirit' of Brazil.

The design was created by Brazilian designer Fred Gelli of Tátil Design, who also developed the branding for the Rio 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games and was one of the creative directors for the opening and closing ceremonies.

Speaking about the F50 design, Gelli said it was an 'opportunity' to represent Brazil 'in a powerful and authentic way'.

"The boat reflects this unique mix of curves, colors, and sensibility, with a touch of Brazilian 'borogodó' - something that surprises and captivates," he said.

Graphic designer Daniel Escudero pointed to 'Brazilian elements' in the design, including the country's wildlife. "The perception of a boat that flies over the water we envisioned very much like a bird gliding over the water," he said.

Team CEO Alan Adler meanwhile said the current line up of F50 designs was 'missing something more vibrant, more joyful'.

"When I think about Brazil, I always think about joy - I think that was our main goal with our design," he said.

The Brazilian F50 will have its racing debut when the 2025 Season gets under way with the Emirates Dubai Sail Grand Prix Presented by P&O Marinas on November 23/24.
