The Welsh Warmer Team Racing at Cardiff Bay Yacht Club

This past weekend saw the Welsh Warmer taking place at Cardiff Bay Yacht Club. This was designed as an introductory and training event for a select few teams, so only eight teams were participating.

Saturday saw excellent racing in great conditions, unfortunately Sunday was not as good and despite going out with cut-downs the severe squall that hit the fleet and the weather forecast meant that there was no racing on Sunday.

Well, a single race got started but as the wind had swung through 150 degrees it was abandoned as they began reaching for the first mark, and then the wind came up to 40kts. Once the boats were recovered the Bath Glossy White team of Fred Langhorne, Ella Tanner, Millie Cunliffe, Andrey Popov, Imogen Wade and Ben Shackleton were declared the winners ahead of the Plymouth Pasties.
