Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez 2024 | Day Three Modern and Classic Videos

by Bow Caddy Media 4 Oct 01:52 BST 28 September - 6 October 2024

Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez 2024 | Day 3 Modern Boats

One of the great attractions of Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez is that amongst the glamour of the Classics and the Maxis, the Moderns class caters for everyone else from the smallest day sailor to a TP52. And boats of all modern eras too.

Better still, all the Moderns are classified in general performance divisions and all of them are rated under IRC. It’s a simple and very appealing package for all the owners.

It was a good day for the Moderns class on Wednesday with a building nor’wester making for some great racing.

Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez 2024 | Day 3 Classic Boats

Almost 80 yachts are taking part in the Classics class at Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez. The fleet ranges from Steve Mclaren’s magnificent 180 foot racing schooner ‘Elena of London’ to Peter Nicholson’s diminutive 102 year old 26.5 feet Solent Sunbeam ‘Dainty’.

All of them had a great coastal race on Wednesday, enjoying a strong nor’wester as they powered home upwind.
