The ABYMA launches Discover Yachting and Marine - Industry Exhibition & Job Fair

by Antigua and Barbuda Yachting & Marine Association 3 Oct 2024 15:56 BST 6-7 November 2024

The Antigua and Barbuda Yachting and Marine Association (ABYMA) is excited to announce the third annual Discover Yachting & Marine - Antigua & Barbuda (DYMAB), set to take place at Falmouth Harbour Marina on November 6th and 7th, 2024.

This highly anticipated event offers a unique opportunity to introduce the vibrant yachting industry to the people of Antigua and Barbuda, fostering a deeper understanding of the career opportunities within the sector and inviting individuals to explore pathways into this dynamic field.

The event, perfectly timed ahead of the industry's peak season, will coincide with the arrival of yachts in local harbors, building excitement as the countdown to the renowned Antigua Charter Yacht Show in December begins.

New for this year, a career desk will be open for both days of the event to welcome job seekers. Attendees are encouraged to bring their resumes for review and receive personalized feedback, while learning about the diverse career opportunities available in the industry. This initiative aims to provide direct guidance to individuals interested in breaking into the yachting and marine sectors, helping to match local talent with the growing demand for skilled professionals.

Discover Yachting & Marine aims to engage the community, including individuals with transferable skills in fields such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, hospitality, property management, and more, and inspire them to consider how their expertise can translate into fulfilling careers within the yachting and marine industries.

ABYMA President Franklyn Braithwaite expressed his enthusiasm for the event, stating: "We are eager to introduce as many people as possible to the industry we love. There are abundant opportunities for Antiguans and Barbudans, and the industry offers rewarding careers. This industry Expo will give everyone a chance to learn about all facets of the sector and explore the wide range of roles available."

With its commitment to growing local involvement in yachting, ABYMA extends an invitation to private schools and educational institutions interested in participating. Schools are encouraged to bring their students to the Expo for an engaging educational experience. To coordinate participation, schools can contact the Schools Committee through Ronald Greenaway at +1268 775-3535.

ABYMA also calls on industry businesses to showcase their offerings and services during the event. Exhibitors will have the unique chance to connect with future talent and share insights into the many career avenues available. To secure an exhibitor booth or to learn more about the event, businesses can reach the ABYMA Secretariat at +1268 736-7697 or via email at .
