Within the framework of its commitment to Sailing for Change, Lagoon has launched a newly developed, environmentally responsible line: Renovate Lagoon catamarans at the Groupe Beneteau shipyard to give them a new life.

The first model to benefit from this second youth is a Lagoon 620 from 2012.

The Lagoon Neo program: why, where, and how?

A Lagoon is built to last! Already renowned for the high-quality construction and strong resale value of its models, Lagoon is taking their commitment further by organizing and structuring its refitting activity in Monfalcone, Italy.

It is there, at the Groupe Beneteau shipyard, selected for its strategic location on the Mediterranean and for its skill in the construction of large yachts, that a Lagoon 620 built in 2012 (Firefly), will benefit from this new activity. Repurchased by Lagoon in February of 2024, after 12 years of service - both by a private owner and by a charter company - this boat will enable the project team to launch the Lagoon NEO program.

What does the Lagoon NEO Program entail:

Drawing on our 40 years of experience in catamaran construction, Lagoon will apply the same quality requirements as for its new catamarans, while establishing a new process:

  • Each boat will receive expert appraisal and evaluation to establish the list of work to be accomplished.
  • Materials and software updates will reflect today's standards and expectations.
  • Over 70% of uninstalled equipment will be repurposed.
  • Each boat will follow the same rigorous testing procedure as a new boat.

Leaving the shipyard, the boat will be like new, with a manufacturer's warranty of two years.

Three types of packs will be available, according to the level of refit desired by the customer:

  • Standard pack
    • Full structural audit
    • Up to date electrical equipment
    • Seanapps
    • Interior refresh
    • New or refurbishing main key equipment
  • Silent pack: Standard pack + Lithium batteries solar panels
  • Premium pack: Silent pack + Hull paint

Approximately 4 to 6 months of work will be necessary for each boat that passes through the Lagoon NEO program.

This manufacturer's warranty, offered with the NEO program, will be ensured by the international Lagoon dealer network, a strong, unmatched network of marine professionals with over 230 service locations throughout the world.

The beginning of a new strategic activity

It is the Lagoon 620 that was chosen as the first model for this activity. Other models will be enriching the Lagoon NEO product offer. This program has the mission of becoming a wholly separate entity within the Groupe Beneteau.

Now, owners of a Lagoon 620 (and other eligible models, in time), can entrust their catamaran to Lagoon Neo for refit, in order to recover it several months later for a brand-new start, covered by a manufacturer's warranty.

Sailing for Change

The Lagoon NEO project is integrated into a broader strategic project - called Sailing for Change - which works for the development of more sustainable cruising: certification of production facilities, innovation in the use of bio-sourced/recycled primary materials, research into alternative propulsion systems, environmentally responsible equipment, partnerships with non-profit organizations working to protect the marine ecosystem... items our crew work on each day, and each a part of the Groupe Beneteau's strategic plan to reduce our carbon footprint by 30% by 2030.

With the end of life of our catamarans placed at the heart of our considerations, as much in concept development as in production, the Lagoon NEO project is born of this initiative. Known for their reliability and robustness, Lagoons are the perfect candidates to be presented with this new life.
