Mike Brand continued his DF95 event win sequence with two previous leading contenders out of the picture in the shifty 'A' rig conditions.

But Mike didn't have it all his own way as RYA judge Robert Owens started strongly with a second and three firsts, also winning race 7 to hold the lead. Paul Woodward was also highly consistent with eight podiums in eight races. Andrew Nichols and course setter Peter Jackson each scored second places but struggled with receiver and steering problems.

Rob then slipped back with a switch issue, repaired during an early lunch break. Peter switched to an old hull and receiver system, a past National Champ's race winner, for an immediate change in fortunes, beating Mike over the last four races with three first and a second place.

Spencer Pope plugged away but never quite broke into the top three, scoring six fourths!

Robert by-passed his switch but never recovered his morning form, a few collisions keeping him off the podium all afternoon. Paul kept his consistency, but managed no wins. Peters late recovery and three win charge pushed him up to second overall, ahead of Paul but only on countback.

Both Rob (morning) and Peter (afternoon) had matched Mike for a while but with 8 wins Mike ran away with the event by 15 points to now lead the series.

Results:

1. Mike Brand, 19pts
2. Peter Jackson, 34pts
3. Paul Woodward, 34pts
