Day 1 of the 14th edition of Race Week at Newport presented by Rolex was a challenging one as trimmers and tacticians battled light air and lumpy seas in addition to the competition.

But all circles completed at least two races. Among the 17 teams sailing in the IC37 class is a team representing the U.S. Coast Guard Academy.

Big boat sailing is an integral part of the Academy's training program and the cadets relish the opportunity to compete against some of the best amateur sailors in the country.
