New for 2025 - The Great Bay Beach & Boardwalk Jamboree

If you've not yet experienced the beauty that is Philipsburg, then you're in for a treat! The latest addition to the event is the Great Bay Beach & Boardwalk Jamboree! Philipsburg, like the rest of Sint Maarten, is known for its diverse culture, influenced by Dutch, French, African, and Caribbean heritages. This is evident in the town's cuisine, music, festivals, and daily life, and we're going to take you there!

The schedule for January 30th-while still to be fine tuned will look something like this:

Morning

Rally fleet departs from Simpson Bay for a short downwind sail to Mullet Bay and the home of SXM's most luxurious beach resort — La Samana. Time there for a sweet swim and snorkel; a Croissant and Coffee; and then up anchor and a beat up to Great Bay and Philipsburg.

Noontime

The Diam 24' - French-built - Trimaran Fleet will be racing in hot rod-style 'heats' along Great Bay Beach in our first 'Great Bay Checkered Flag Sailing Races'. These open three-person crew flyers can get well past 25 mph in the right breeze. With 12 boats expected, there will be lots to see from the water or from one of the many bars along the beach. Enjoy the racing and wager on the winners!

Afternoon

We'll engineer Sports & Games in the new Great Bay Beach sports park. Rally crews will compete in Beach Volleyball, Football (soccer for those non-Americans), a Tug of War, Jou de Boule and more! Prizes will be awarded to wining crews!

Evening

Then after a swim and a shower, all sailors will go ashore to begin the party. We will host, along with valuable local partners, events on the Boardwalk with music, food, Carnival Dancers and the daily prize-giving for the racing fleet which will come over from the SMYC in Simpson Bay join the rally crews. We have big surprises in store and we expect this party to bring in visitors and residents of the island to joining the fun!

If you want to be a part of this day in the sun, please reach out to our team and we can give you more information on how you can become a Gold Sponsor. In the meantime, stay tuned as we fine tune this fun filled day.
