Boaters are now able to share their location and voyage progress with friends and family, without the need for any hardware. SailTies, the free boating logbook app, lets boaters broadcast their position along with automatic voyage stats to give family and friends a window into their experience with added peace of mind.

SailTies Live Tracking uses only your iPhone or Android smartphone and doesn't require any subscription. Once your voyage is complete, the digital logbook will be automatically updated enabling you to keep track of all your journeys.

SailTies users have the option to broadcast publicly, showing up on the map to nearby sailors using the app. Explore the map to see who's sailing near you & chat about the local anchorage.

As with all SailTies features, privacy is a number one priority. Boaters can choose to broadcast publicly, just to members of their groups or only to people they send a link to. Alternatively they can turn broadcasting off altogether.

Live Tracking has been optimised to use as little battery and mobile data as possible. If a boater goes out of phone signal, their tracking link shows their last updated position and time and resumes updating automatically when possible.

Co-founder Chris Jacobs explains, "Thousands of boaters are already keeping a record of their voyages on SailTies, so it was a no-brainer to give them a way to broadcast their progress to friends and family with Live Tracking. An added bonus is that I feel safer on the water knowing nearby boaters can see my progress and communicate with me if needed."
