DF95 Summer Series Event 2 at East Kent Radio Sailing Club Overall

Event 2 of the East Kent Radio Sailing Club's DF95 Summer Series was held mainly in light and very shifty conditions, but in rare sunshine! Over 18 races six skippers made it onto the podium, but three dominated.

Mike Brand, Alan Hounsell and Peter Jackson each won two races of the first six. Spencer Pope was second twice and Rob Maunder once, with Andrew Nichols getting three thirds.

After a fourth and a fifth Mike got his rig tuning sorted and put in a string of first and second places to open up a small lead over Peter and Alan by the lunch break.

Mike then won five of the last six races in ultra-light shifty winds. Alan and Peter's battle for second was sealed in Alan's favour when Peter, lost two races with an unexplained electrical issue then also picked up a rare clump of weed.

Andrew beat Spencer in three of the last five races in the shifty conditions, but too late to knock him from fourth place overall. With Mike having missed the first event the summer series is wide open.
