XOD class at Itchenor Keelboat Week - Day 4

What a difference a day makes. After three days of light airs for the beginning of Itchenor Keel Boat Week, the XODs were confronted with winds averaging in the region of 22 knots with gusts of over 25.

Before the race the opinion was that this was an "Astralita day". And so it turned out with Frazer Graham and Tim Copsey in Astralita with John Tremlett on the helm stormed into an early lead that they never relinquished. Behind them Roger Yeoman driving Xcitation had a battle royal with Peter Baines's Felix.

The excellent race management of David MacGregor and his team continued as they gave the fleet three challenging beats in the choppy open waters at the mouth of Chichester Harbour coupled with three runs when the XODs rocked and rolled as only XODs can. At the end of some two hours of racing the crews returned to the hospitality of Itchenor Sailing Club a little tired but "X"hilerated.
